Almost one-and-a-half years after they first started seeing each other, actor Upen Patel and model Shamita Singha are reported to have split.

Just a year ago, Upen and Shamita seemed inseparable. The two were often spotted together at parties and social dos and they also made a trip together to Britain. But so much has changed between them over the course of just a year.

it’s over between Shamita Singha and Upen Patel and the model turned actor isn’t taking it too well. Last Sunday, after designer Gavin Miguel’s show, Shamita, Gavin, photographer Jatin Kampani, singer Pratichee, model Tora Kashgir and some others went to Zenzi for an after party of their own.

All was well until Upen made an unannounced entry and walked up to the group. He greeted Shamita with insults to which Shamita retorted with a curt, “This is not the way you will talk to me in front of my friends.”

Upen was thrilled to receive the award and said ‘it’s a happening week for me as i also received Society young achievers award which was followed by Lions award which makes it a double whammy for me.

When Upen Patel was signed for Vipul Shah’s ‘Namaste London’, it made big news for the hot shot newcomer. This was because after ‘36 China Town’, a biggie like this with Akshay Kumar in the lead spelt a good career move en route to consolidation of his position in the world of Bollywood.

Surprisingly Upen is still waiting for his moment of limelight in the publicity of ‘Namaste London’ even as the film’s promos have been on air for around a month. While the publicity kick started with specially crafted Chirstmas promo ‘Jingle Balle’, it was followed by ‘Chakna Chakna’, a UK bhangra pop number set in a discotheque!
