There is little common between Kangana Ranaut and Upen Patel except the fact that they are working together in Sunil Darshan’s movie Shakalaka Boom Boom . She is a simple girl from Himachal. He is an ultra-modern, yuppie-type guy with heavily accented English that comes from years of living in the UK.

There is another rumor that Upen Patel impressed his co-star Kangana (of their next film ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’). However, Kangana tell another story; she tells that, “Upen and Me? Please! He’s just not my type at all. I’m shocked at the reports back home that I’m ‘impressed’ by Upen. I’ve nothing to gain from being linked with Upen.” While Upen reveals, “Kangana and I get along like a house on fire.

We are quite a pair with her Himachal accent and my British-Gujju accent. But there’s nothing more to our friendship. I wish people wouldn’t be so outmoded in their perceptions on friendships.”

There may be millions of girl swooning over the hottest Bollywood hunk Upen Patel but Kangana Ranaut is definitely one of them.

The two are working together in Suneel Darshan’s ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’ in South Africa at the moment and believe us there is nothing brewing between them. At least that’s what Kangana tried to convince us.

“All the reports doing rounds back home are completely baseless. I think I’ve better things to do than get impressed by Upen because I’ve nothing to gain from being linked with him.

Saif Ali Khan, appointed the new brand ambassador for Provogue. He came in the place of its previous ambassador Fardeen Khan. Saif will endorse Provogue’s new men’s wear collection.
However model-turned-actor Upen Patel will continue to be the brand ambassador for the company.
Also Esha Deol, appointed as one of its brand ambassadors, is the first actress, who will endorse its women’s wear category.

It’s very easy to see who’s ruling the roost in Bollywood. Just check on their endorsements. So, while Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta appear in every second ad, the new face on the ads circuit is our very own Delhi boy, Saif Ali Khan. Riding high on hits like Omkaara and Salaam Namaste, apparel brand Provogue, has ditched Fardeen Khan for Saif, who is now their spokesperson. Fardeen, incidently, was Provogue MD Nikhil Chaturvedi’s erstwhile ‘good friend’ and when Fardeen was embroiled in the cocaine scandal, he had been partying with the Provogue owners.

Meanwhile, actor Esha Deol has been chosen to endorse Provogue’s womenswear collection and Upen Patel is the model for their accessories.

So what happens to cute old bad boy Fardeen now? For starters, he can try and revive his flagging career, shed some weight and get fit. Newcomer Upen Patel has been roped in as the brand ambassador for Provogue’s new line of denim and innerwear.

Upen, who debuted as the stylish Casanova in director Abbas-Mastan’s ‘36 China Town’, has been given the title of the Provogue youth icon.

He has signed a five-year contract with the company and he will be responsible for the look and styling of the brand.
