Upen denies working with Amrita

It was recently reported that actor Upen Patel would be working with his ex-girlfriend Amrita Arora in Kalpana Lajmi’s next film. Amrita was also quoted confirming her pairing with Upen. She even went on to say that she had no qualms working with the model-turned-actor.

Incidentally, Amrita at one point had reportedly declared that she would never be working with her ex-boyfriend. Upen, who of late, has been shooting in South Africa for films ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ and ‘Namaste London’ in UK is surprised with this information. He clarifies, “This is news to me. I would like to clarify and put all rumours to rest.

Yes, it is true that Kalpana and I did talk about doing a film but it was a brief discussion.” He continues, “Since two months I have been away shooting. Amrita Arora’s former boyfriend Upen Patel denied he’s signed film opposite Amrita. The model-turned-actor is presently in London for shooting of ‘Namaste London’; on hearing the news, he appeared apparently clueless.

“This is news to me. I’ve not signed any film opposite Amrita. Where from all those rumours come?” he wondered. Of late there was a buzz doing rounds in the industry that Upen Patel has been signed up for Kalpana Lajmi’s next and it will have Amrita Arora playing the heroine.

‘I was the star attraction’

While Upen Patel has already taken a plunge in Bollywood, model Muzammil Ibrahim is following suit soon. There is going to be some serious shortage of guy candy on the ramp now. I have got an author-backed role in the film. The film talks about how the perception of India has changed over the years. However, films made by the Bhatts are never weighed down by messages, entertainment comes first,” he says.

But films, he says, come second in his scheme of things. “Modelling is my first love. I will always be associated with modelling, even if I am acting,” Muzammil says.
