it’s over between Shamita Singha and Upen Patel and the model turned actor isn’t taking it too well. Last Sunday, after designer Gavin Miguel’s show, Shamita, Gavin, photographer Jatin Kampani, singer Pratichee, model Tora Kashgir and some others went to Zenzi for an after party of their own.
All was well until Upen made an unannounced entry and walked up to the group. He greeted Shamita with insults to which Shamita retorted with a curt, “This is not the way you will talk to me in front of my friends.”
A livid Upen then snatched Shamita’s glass of wine and splashed it on her and walked away. Shamita’s friends stood in shocked silence while she broke down in tears.
Then one friend told Upen off saying that this was no way to treat a lady. Upen, realising that things may get out of hand, wordlessly made a hasty exit before anybody could stop him.
According to Shamita’s friends, Upen was upset with Shamita because she had dumped him and he couldn’t take the rejection. it took a while for Shamita’s friends to get her to regain her composure, but she surely looked shaken. Bad show, Patel.
