Hit and Miss

It’s very easy to see who’s ruling the roost in Bollywood. Just check on their endorsements. So, while Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta appear in every second ad, the new face on the ads circuit is our very own Delhi boy, Saif Ali Khan. Riding high on hits like Omkaara and Salaam Namaste, apparel brand Provogue, has ditched Fardeen Khan for Saif, who is now their spokesperson. Fardeen, incidently, was Provogue MD Nikhil Chaturvedi’s erstwhile ‘good friend’ and when Fardeen was embroiled in the cocaine scandal, he had been partying with the Provogue owners.

Meanwhile, actor Esha Deol has been chosen to endorse Provogue’s womenswear collection and Upen Patel is the model for their accessories.

So what happens to cute old bad boy Fardeen now? For starters, he can try and revive his flagging career, shed some weight and get fit. If all else fails, at least he’s got one endorsement going: Khan is the model for socialite sister Laila Rajpal’s recently launched design label. Thank God for the small consolations of life
