Considering that Upen Patel is such a strange fellow himself, it’s not strange that strange things happen to him.

He was hanging around at China House over the weekend when a guy strolled up to him and said casually, “You know, you’re the only man I hate. Your name is Upen but you are such a pain.”

He then stalked off, leaving a speechless actor behind.

End of the story? Not quite because the chappie returned to repeat his ‘hate male’. This time Upen managed to smile through the tirade. But his smile only made the guy froth and fume even more.

Finally, Upen asked him what the problem really was. “I hate it that you have all the women hanging around with,” was the muttered response.

Even more bemused, Upen blushing and mumbled, “Thank you for the compliment.” Really now.
